Donald joined Arlington Capital Advisors in 2007 and is a hands-on financial executive with 30 years of experience in corporate finance, accounting, financial transactions, and mergers and acquisitions with companies ranging in size from $7 million to $7 billion.
Donald began his career in 1979, joining Coopers & Lybrand (a predecessor firm to PricewaterhouseCoopers). As a partner in the firm, he was actively engaged in audit, accounting, tax and transactional services to privately owned and publicly held companies throughout the southeastern U.S. In 1997, Donald joined his client, Saks Incorporated (the parent company of Saks Fifth Avenue and other major department store brands) as its SVP of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. During his tenure with Saks as its audit partner and then as its SVP Finance, Saks’ predecessor grew from $100 million to $7 billion in annual sales principally through strategic acquisitions. Donald was a key member of the executive management team that acquired, financed and then integrated ten regional and national retail companies. A native Memphian, Donald graduated Summa Cum Laude from Christian Brothers College.
Subsequent to leaving Saks in 2005, Donald enjoyed a brief and unsuccessful period as a self-taught artist and woodworker, followed by participating with a group of private investors in acquiring a successful regional specialty transportation and environmental services company, Action Resources.
Donald holds FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses.
